Sony has recently identified a potential performance issue affecting a limited quantity of PEG-TJ35 sold from October 2003 in some areas/countries in the Asia-Pacific. The symptom of this issue is the LCD backlight does not come on (i.e. LCD screen remains dark).

In order to determine whether your PEG-TJ35 has the issue , please check the following:

• The CLIE handheld is a PEG-TJ35/H or PEG-TJ35/G
• The CLIE handheld serial number falls into one of the ranges below : * PEG-TJ35/H 7500001 - 7501500 * PEG-TJ35/G 7000001 - 7001860
• Slide and hold the POWER/HOLD switch towards POWER for two seconds.

Since we would like to ensure full performance of your CLIE handheld, Sony will provide a free repair service for the LCD backlight. If you believe that your PEG-TJ35 has experienced the symptom, you are invited to contact our Sony 24-hour product enquiry hotline to request evaluation and possible service.

As a precaution, we advise you to do a backup of all your information stored on your CLIE handheld before you send it to our Customer Service Centre, as it may be erased from memory during the evaluation and/or repair process .
