Sony has recently discovered that small particles of the metal plating on the Cyber-shot DSC-W170 digital still camera may peel off from the casing surrounding the lens. It is possible that these particles could prick a user's hand.

To ensure customer satisfaction, Sony will replace the metal plating surrounding the lens unit for free when this symptom occurs in certain units covered by the serial numbers indicated below.
