(a) This service can be subscripted through either one of Sony Customer Service Hotline or Sony on-line web application. To maintain the good service provided, all enquiries by phone call may be recorded.
(b) This service will cover SONY products that listed on the current Extended Warranty Fee Table. This service will provide to the products with or without Warranty Agreement .
(c) The extended warranty service will be charged to Customer based on the current Extended Warranty Fee Table. All fees are subject to change without prior notice.
(d) All products’ extended warranty service is provided under the relevant Maintenance Terms and Conditions.
(e) SONY will provide a reference number to Customer for their request on purchase extended warranty for his / her product . If the product is covered under warranty agreement, customer shall tender Warranty Agreement Number or Product Model Number, Product Serial Number and Phone Number or Product Model Number, Product Serial Number and MySonyID. Agreement number is a reference number assigned by SONY to identify a particular warranty contract. Once the request is accepted by SONY, customer shall pay the extended warranty fee by one of the following ways:
- BY CASH. Customer can pay in person at Customer Service Centre with quoting the Reference Number.
- BY CHEQUE. Mail crossed cheque payable to “Sony Corporation of Hong Kong Ltd” to the P.O Box No. 62093 Kwun Tong Post Office Kowloon with Request Number written on the back of the cheque.
- BY CREDIT CARD. Customer can pay by VISA or Master CARD, contact our Customer Service Hotline 28335129 on Monday to Sunday 9 am – 8 pm .
(f) Re-acceptance Inspection - If the product is out of warranty period, pre-acceptance inspection of the product shall be made. SONY will charge the inspection fee in advance that based on the current Service Charge Table subject to terms here of, all charges are subject to change without prior notice. SONY will carry out the said inspection either by home visit; or customer may be requested to send the product to our Customer Service Centre depends on the product category.
(g) If the product is in good condition subject to SONY’s sole judgment, customer are required to settle the payment of extended warranty scheme. In case the product is not in good condition and requires to repair, Customer shall pay the repair charges (including parts and labour charges) before joining the extended warranty scheme . The inspection fee paid will be deduced from repair charge. If the Customer does not agree to proceed the repair, the product will be returned to the Customer. SONY will issue a payment receipt to the Customer for repair charges (agreed to repair ) / inspection fee (not agree to repair).
(h) Customer’s request on purchase of the extended warranty will become invalid and be removed from the record if SONY does not receive the payment within one month from the submission date of the said request. SONY will provide an e-mail reminder to Customer 2 weeks after the date on which the extended warranty is approved by SONY.
(i) This service will also provided to customer without any warranty agreement, customer requires to provide the purchase date of product. SONY will determine the expiry date of the product based on the purchase date. SONY assume customer provide the true information but reserve its right to request customer to present the original invoice to verify the accuracy of product’s purchase date at any time. If customer fail to provide such information to SONY. SONY has rights to cancel the extended warranty agreement and customer is liable to pay the repair charges.
(j) SONY will issue the “Maintenance Agreement” and mail to the customer after confirmed the payment for extended warranty scheme.
(k) Customer can cancel his / her request on extended warranty service via this Site before the requested service has been rendered. However, any cancellation of the requested service shall be subject to SONY’s discretion.
(l) Repair service will include the cost of labour, and all replacement parts required for the proper functioning of the registered machine but exclude CONNECTING CORD / ACCESSORIES AND CABINET.
(m) The warranty agreement does not cover labour or materials necessary to repair in case that:
- the product is for commercial use (e.g. rental); or
- the failure or damage is caused by water, fire, accident, negligence, abuse or misuse, improper voltage input, normal wear and tear, any unauthorized repair or being tempered with.
(n) In case there is any unavoidable cause (such as the supply of the required spare parts are discontinued) which preventing us from carrying out the repair service under the terms of the Agreement, we will refund the unused portion (according to time portion) of the warranty fee.
(o) In the event of change of Customer’s information, such as address, telephone number, etc, the Customer should inform SONY in writing as soon as possible.
(p) If customer requires workshop service for his product located on outlying islands, the customer shall be at his own expenses responsible for transporting the product to one of SONY Customer Service Centres and collecting it from the same centre after the service.
