We recently became aware that unauthorized Sony software has been downloaded and used to modify specifications of our interchangeable Lens Digital Camera α™ and digital still camera Cyber-shot®. This usage has been publicized on some web sites and Internet bulletin boards.

Such unauthorized software is not officially released by Sony, hence we are not in a position to assure its performance and operation.

Please note that if you use software downloaded from sources other than Sony’s official website, its operation is not assured and your product will become exempted from the warranty service.
