GPS Positioning Date Display Issue Notice
July 4, 2019
Dear Valued Sony Customers,
Sony has identified an issue where the GPS positioning date is displayed incorrectly on affected Digital Cameras, Video Cameras and Digital Recording Binoculars. This is due to the GPS date information not being correctly recognized and unintentionally changed to an incorrect date. Besides, the Auto Time Correct function is not working properly as it should. This issue was caused by the "GPS Week Number Rollover (*)" phenomenon, which occurred on April 7th, 2019 (Japan time).
(*)The week number in the date sent by the GPS satellite resets to 0 every 1024 weeks.
This phenomenon affects the following Handycam® Digital Video Cameras, Digital Recording Binoculars, α™ (Alpha™) Interchangeable Lens Digital Cameras and Cyber-shot® Digital Still Cameras released between 2010 and 2013.
