Backup - Powered by Amazon will be removed from the menu in Album app on the 31st of March, 2020

When will Backup - Powered by Amazon be removed from the menu in Album app? / Can I continue to use Amazon Photos after the Backup - Powered by Amazon option has been removed from the Album app menu? / How do I access my backed up photos after the removal?

    • Album app v.9.0 - 9.7 with the Backup - Powered by Amazon option available in the menu.

    Solution

    Backup - Powered by Amazon will be removed from the Album app menu on the 31st of March, 2020. An updated Album app version will be released which will not include the Backup - Powered by Amazon link. You can still continue to use the Amazon Photos service, either via the Amazon Photos app in your device or via the Amazon Drive website.

    Q: If I don't update to the latest version of Album app by end of March, can I continue to use Backup - Powered by Amazon in an older version of the Album app?
    A: No. Backup - Powered by Amazon will not be supported after the 1st of April 2020. If you tap Backup - Powered by Amazon in an older version of the app, you will get an error message. 

    Q: Will the Amazon Photos services be terminated? 
    A: No. It's only the link in the Album app menu which will be removed. You can continue to use the Amazon Photos service and access your backed up photos either via the Amazon Photos app in your device or via the Amazon Drive website.
