What is the number displayed left bottom of WiFi icon?

    Solution

    The number displayed to the left of the Wi-Fi icon differs according to the Wi-Fi standard of the current connection.

    Please see below information for the number appears next to the Wi-Fi icon.

    • No. 4 is Wi-Fi 4, which is 802.11n technology.
    • No. 5 is Wi-Fi 5, which is 802.11ac technology.
    • No. 6 is Wi-Fi 6, which is 802.11ax technology.

    Note: Sony has decided to remove support for Wi-Fi generation icons which is the number displayed left bottom of WiFi icon, from its Android 13.
