    There are many causes for Windows® 98 not shutting down correctly, including incompatible or conflicting device drivers, a damaged exit sound file or incorrectly configured or damaged hardware.
    User may find that the computer works well in all ways except shutting down. If Windows® is not shutting down correctly make sure close all the applications (programs) before turning off the computer.
