How to maintain the VAIO computer?

Maintain the VAIO computer.

    Note:

    • Please do not use such lotion which may damage computer as OA detergent, volatile oil, acetone, alcohol, diluents, enamel remover and so on.
      When using chemical rag, pay attention to the items to be confirmed.

    • Do not use wet cloth to clear chassis and mouse.
      If users carelessly spill the water into the chassis, it may cause problems.


    Select the following items which requires cleanup.

    ■Mouse
    ■monitor
    ■Keyboard
    ■Chassis
    ■Plug
    ■Air outlet and air inlet
    ■ Mouse
    Different mouse types require different cleanup methods.
    Please refer to the following information.

    Remark

    The attached product manual also recommends some methods to clean up the mouse.

    • Mechanical mouse
    • Optical mouse
    Mechanical mouse

    When there is dust at the bottom of the mouse, inner balls or pulley, the mouse will not function.
    Please refer to the following steps to clean the mouse.
    1. Shut down the computer.

    2. Pull out the plug.

    3. Remove the mouse cover in  the opposite direction marked at on the back of the mouse.

    4. Take out the small ball, and clean the dust and dirt.
      Use cotton swab to clean the pulley.

       

    5. Put the small ball back and cap the cover.



    Optical mouse
    When there is dust at the bottom of mouse, it will not function.
    Please refer to the following steps to clean the mouse.
    1. Shut down the computer.

    2. Pull out the plug.

    3. Use a piece of dry cloth to clean the bottom of mouse.




    ■ Monitor

    Different monitors require different cleanning ways.
    Please refer to the following information.

    Remark

    • CRT monitor
    • LCD monitor
    LCD monitor

    Please refer to the following information to clean the LCD monitor.

    ● The monitor is not very dirty.

    Rub the monitor with dry soft rag.
    If the dust cannot be cleaned, please refer to the following information about The monitor is very dirty.

    Get as well as rub with dry rag, or rub the monitor slightly with a rag which is a litte wet and then rub it with dry rag.

    Note:

    • The surface of the LCD monitor have been specially processed, therfore please do not touch the surface.
    • Please do not use the lotion which may damage the computer, such as OA detergent, volatile oil, acetone, alcohol, diluents, enamel remover and so on.




    ■ Keyboard

    Keyboard may become dirty after being used for a long time. The space between keys may collect lots of dust.
    If there is dust between keys, users cannot type letters or press keys, or the keys cannot pop up.
    Then, it's required to clean up the keyboard.

    ● Surface
    Rub the dust away with dry rag.

    ● The side of the keys
    Clean away the dust with cotton swab.

    ● Space between keys
    Use air sprayer to clean away the dirt and dust.



    ■ Chassis

    Rub carefully.




    ■ Plug

    Clean up with the cotton swab.




    ■ Air outlet and air inlet

    Rub with a dry cloth.
    If there is too much dust, users can use vacuum cleaner to draw out the dust and then use cotton swab to take the dust away.
