Why does a blue screen appear when the Fn + F7 hotkey is used after installing Windows® XP Service Pack 2?

After installing Windows® XP Service Pack 2, a blue screen appears when the Fn + F7 hotkey is being used.

To resolve this symptom, please download the latest Video Driver Registry Patch.

In the Downloads section, please select Notebook and proceed with the steps below:
1. Move the cursor to the relevant Notebook Series and click the model of the VAIO computer.
2. Locate Video Driver Registry Patch and proceed as per instructions on the screen.

Note:
- During the installation of this update, be sure to log in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
- Before proceeding with the upgrade, disconnect all external hardware devices, including PC Cards, except for the docking station.
- Before proceeding, ensure that the VAIO computer is operated using the supplied AC adapter.
- Save all data/files and close all running programs.
