How to register the tablet to a Google® account?
Registering the tablet to a Google® account.
Though not required, registering the tablet to a Google account is recommended in order to make the most of your tablet, including access to the Android Market. If you already have a Gmail account then you also have a Google account, but they are not quite the same. If you use a computer to create a Google account, you can use any valid email account. If you use this procedure to create a Google account then a Gmail account will also be created and used with that Google account.
IMPORTANT: Before attempting to complete this procedure, make sure the device is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
- On the desktop, tap the Home icon.
- In the upper-right corner of the desktop home screen, tap the Apps icon.
- In the Apps screen, tap the Settings icon.
- In the Settings screen, tap to select Accounts & sync.
- In the Accounts & sync screen, tap + Add account.
- At the Add an account prompt, tap to select Google accounts.
- The tablet will now gather information about the device in order to create the account. This process may take several seconds.
- In the Sign in with your Google Account screen, if you already have a Google Account, use the on-screen keyboard to enter the email address and password associated with that account, and then tap the Sign in button.
br/> NOTE: If you do not have a Google Account, follow these steps to create a new Google Account:
- In the Sign in with you Google Account screen, tap Create account.
- In the Create a new Google Account screen, use the on-screen keyboard to enter the desired email address account name, your first and last name, and then tap Next.
- In the Google Account screen, use the on-screen keyboard to enter a password (8 character minimum), confirm the password, and then tap Next.
- Tap the down arrow to select the desired security question, use the on-screen keyboard to enter the answer to that question, and then tap Next.
- In the Google Terms of Service screen, tap I agree, Next.
- In the Authenticating screen, use the on-screen keyboard to enter the letters displayed in the white box, and then tap Next.
NOTE: If you receive a You don't have a network connection error, then the tablet does not have an active Internet connection. Follow these steps to reconnect to a wireless access point.
- In the Google Account sign-in failure screen, tap the Connect to Wi-Fi button.
- In the Setting screen, under Wi-Fi networks, tap to select the desired network access point.
- Tap the Next button, located in the bottom left corner of the screen.
- In the Sign in with you Google Account screen, tap Create account.
- In the Account sign-in successful screen, tap Done.
