How to release and renew an IP address on the VAIO computer?
To release and renew an IP address on the VAIO computer.
Please refer to the steps below to release and renew an IP address in the respective Operating System environments.
A. For Windows® 98SE and Windows® Me
1. Click Start and click Run.
2. In the Open text box, enter winipcfg. Click OK.
3. In the IP Configuration dialog box, select Sony PCWA-C100 Wireless Card.
4. Click the Release button and click Renew.
5. Check if the renewed IP address works in user's network environment.
B. For Windows® 2000
1. Click Start] -> Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt.
2. Enter ipconfig / release and press Enter.
The following message appears.
IP address successfully released for adapter "xxx".
3. Enter ipconfig / renew and press Enter.
This command allows user to renew an IP address.
4. Enter ipconfig / all and press Enter.
5. Check if the renewed IP address works in user's network environment.
