I imported the video clips from an NTSC system DV camera into my VAIO computer (PAL system) with MovieShaker. After editing them with MovieShaker, I exported the video clips back to the DV camera. However, the exported motion image got distorted and cannot be played back clearly. Why?
I imported the video clips from an NTSC system DV camera into my VAIO computer (PAL system) with DVgate Motion after using Dvsigchg.exe. I edited them into AVI files with MovieShaker and tried to add these files into DVgate Motion so as to export them back to the DV camera. However, the exporting was unsuccessful and I encountered the following error message. Why?
"The AVI file(s) are unsupported."
This symptom is due to the limitation of the MovieShaker software.
For more details, please refer to ReadMe.txt located at the directory "C:\Program Files\Sony\MovieShaker\Readme.txt"
Contents of the ReadMe file are as follow:
"Precautions in case DV device is connected or editing DV
This program can only control household DV devices manufactured by Sony (limited to models sold in the country where the computer was purchased)."
MovieShaker bundled in your VAIO computer is compliant only with the Sony DV camera sold in the same country as the computer, from the viewpoint of broadcasting system. You have to use the DV camera that has the same broadcasting system as your computer.
The broadcasting system in most of the countries in the Asia Pacific region is PAL, except for countries e.g. South Korea where the system is NTSC.
