Why can't files that are created with Adobe Premiere 6.0 be used on the VAIO computer?

Files that are created with Adobe Premiere 6.0 cannot be used on the VAIO computer.

Err Msg:
Cannot open because file format is not supported by DVgate Motion.
Refer to Help, solve the problem and then add it again.

Please refer to the steps below to resolve this symptom:

A. Check the settings of Project and Export with Adobe Premiere 6.0.

Note: To create an AVI file or an AVI2.0 file that can be opened with DVgate, it is necessary to load the preset file beginning with VAIO Edit Components - NTSC in the Project Settingor Load Project Settings dialog box.

1. Click Project, click Project Setting and click General.
2. Click Load.
3. Select a preset in the Available Presets list box in accordance with the format of the image to edit.
3.1 VAIO Edit Components - NTSC
a. Standard 32KHz: Standard (4:3), Edit a movie in the 12bit audio mode of DV equipment
b. Standard 48 KHz: Standard (4:3), Edit a movie in the 16bit audio mode of DV equipment
c. Widescreen 32KHz: Wide TV mode (16:9), Edit a movie in the 12bit audio mode of DV equipment
d. Widescreen 48KHz: Wide TV mode (16:9), Edit a movie in the 16bit audio mode of DV equipment

3.2 VAIO Edit Components - PAL
a. Standard 32KHz: Standard (4:3), Edit a movie in the 12bit audio mode of DV equipment
b. Standard 48 KHz: Standard (4:3), Edit a movie in the 16bit audio mode of DV equipment
c. Widescreen 32KHz: Wide TV mode (16:9), Edit a movie in the 12bit audio mode of DV equipment
d. Widescreen 48KHz: Wide TV mode (16:9), Edit a movie in the 16bit audio mode of DV equipment

3.3 For the settings other than the above, please refer to the instructions in Description.

4. Select a preset file and click OK.
5. When the Project Settings dialog box appears, click Playback Settings.
6. In the Sony DV Playback Options dialog box, select the options for necessary setting items:
a. To play back an image with a DV camcorder
Select this option to output the image to a DV device
Note:
When the Playback on DV Camcorder/VCR option is selected, audio will not played back on the desktop.
Disable this option when capturing an image.

b. To play back an image on the desktop
Select this option to show the image on the monitor screen of Adobe Premiere 6.0.

c. To output an image to a DV camcorder in rendering scrub
Select this option to output the image to a DV camera during rendering scrub.

d. To playback audio on the desktop during scrubbing
Select this option to playback audio with the computer during rendering scrub.

8. Click OK to close the Sony DV Playback Options dialog box.
9. Click OK to close the Project Settings dialog box.

B. To load a preset file in the Export Movies Settings dialog box.

1. Click File, click Export timeline and click Movie.
2. Click Settings.
3. Click Load.
4. Select a preset in the Available Presets list box in accordance with the format of the movie to edit.
4.1 VAIO Edit Components - NTSC
a. Standard 32KHz: Standard (4:3), Edit a movie in the 12bit audio mode of DV equipment
b. Standard 48 KHz: Standard (4:3), Edit a movie in the 16bit audio mode of DV equipment
c. Widescreen 32KHz: Wide TV mode (16:9), Edit a movie in the 12bit audio mode of DV equipment
d. Widescreen 48KHz: Wide TV mode (16:9), Edit a movie in the 16bit audio mode of DV equipment

4.2 VAIO Edit Components - PAL
a. Standard 32KHz: Standard (4:3), Edit a movie in the 12bit audio mode of DV equipment
b. Standard 48 KHz: Standard (4:3), Edit a movie in the 16bit audio mode of DV equipment
c. Widescreen 32KHz: Wide TV mode (16:9), Edit a movie in the 12bit audio mode of DV equipment
d. Widescreen 48KHz: Wide TV mode (16:9), Edit a movie in the 16bit audio mode of DV equipment

4.3 For the settings other than the above, please refer to the instructions in Description.
To use the exported file with DVgate, do not change the setting values of the above preset files.

5. Select a preset file and click OK.
6. Click Advanced Setting. The Output format dialog box appears.
7. Select a file format of the image to output.
7.1 Click one of the following option buttons:
a. Export to a file (AVI2.0).
This option will export a movie to a DV-AVI file in the AVI2.0 format.
Select this option to output the file without dividing it when the image length less than 2GB. (NTSC - about 9 minutes 30 seconds: PAL - about 9 minutes 25 seconds).
Note:
When the exported file cannot be handled with other softwares, select the Divide every 2GB of the movie and export to multiple files (AVI1.0) option.

b. DVgate Ver.2.5 and later versions support AVI2.0
Divide every 2GB of the movie and export to multiple files (AVI1.0)
This option will export the movie to a DV-AVI file in the AVI1.0 format.
When the size of the movie to be exported exceeds 2GB, divide it into multiple files by every 2GB and store.

7.2 Click OK to close the Output format dialog box.

7.3 Click OK again.

7.4 Enter the file name of the movie to be exported and click Save.

Note:
DVgate 2.5 and later versions are capable of handling files in the AVI2.0 format. Please refer to the steps below to check the file format settings.
1. Click Project and click Setting Viewer.
2. Click Export Settings.
3. Click File type and click Advanced Setting.
4. Make sure the Export to one file (AVI2.0) option is selected.
