How to customize Corner Tap Action of the touchpad?

    Customizing Corner Tap Action of the touchpad.

    The Touch Pad icon is located on the Taskbar. In the Mouse Properties dialog box, select either of the preferred options below from the pull-down menu.

    - To execute a specific program, select Run a program of your choosing.
    - To assign a specific key operation, select Record and Play a sequence of Keystrokes.

    Please refer to the steps below to select the preferred options for the different driver versions.
    Note: The procedure may vary a little depending on the versions of Touchpads.

    A. To select Run a program of your choosing
    - For Driver Version 5.*

    1. Right-click the Synaptics Touchpad icon in the task tray.
    2. Click Touchpad Properties.
    3. Click the Function tab.
    4. Select the Enable Tap Zones option.
    5. Click Zone Area Settings.
    6. From the pull-down menu of the corner where the function is to be set, select the Run a program of your choosing option.
    7. Enter a program name or a path, or click Browse to select a program to run. Click OK.
    (For example, to specify Notepad -> \c:\\WINDOWS/System32\notepad.exe)
    * Once the macro operation of a program to run or a key is registered, the icon indicating its registration appears beside the menu box. When this icon is displayed, click it to change the registered contents.
    8. Ensure that Run... is displayed in the menu box.
    9. Click Apply and click OK.
    10. Click OK to close the Mouse Properties dialog box.

    - For Driver Version 6.*

    1. Right-click on the Synaptics Touchpad icon in the task tray.
    2. Click Touchpad Properties.
    3. Click the Device Settings tab and click Settings.
    4. Click Tapping and select the Enable Tapping option.
    5. On the left of Tapping, click the plus (+) mark and click Tap Zones.
    6. Select the Enable Tap Zones option.
    7. On the left of Tap Zones, click the plus (+) mark and select the corner to where the function is to be set.
    8. From the list of operations on the right of the screen, select Run a program of your choosing and click Configure.
    9. Enter a program name or a path, or click Browse to select a program to run and click OK.
    (For example: specify Notepad -> C:\WINDOWS\System32\notepad.exe)
    * Once the macro operation of a program to run or a key is registered, the icon indicating its registration appears beside the menu box. When this icon is displayed, click it to change the registered contents.
    10. Click OK to close the Properties for Synaptics TouchPad On PS/2 port dialog box.
    11. Click OK to close the Mouse Properties dialog box.

    B. To select Record and play a sequence of keystrokes
    For Driver Version 5.*

    1. Right-click on the Synaptics Touchpad icon in the task tray.
    2. Click Touchpad Properties.
    3. Click the Function tab.
    4. Select the Enable Tap Zones option.
    5. Click Zone Area Settings.
    6. From the pull-down menu, select Record and play a sequence of keystrokes and select the corner where the function is to be set.
    7. Click Start and operate those keys (shortcut key) to be recorded.
    * Once the macro operation of a program to run or a key is registered, the icon indicating its registration appears beside the menu box. When this icon is displayed, click it to change the registered contents.
    8. When completed, click Stop and click OK.
    (For example: To set the operation of finishing an application, press Alt+F4.)
    9. Check that the menu indicates Key Macro. Click Apply and click OK.
    10. Click OK to close the Mouse Properties dialog box.

    - For Driver Version 6.*

    1. Right-click the Synaptics Touchpad icon on the task tray in the lower right corner of the screen.
    2. Click Touchpad Properties.
    3. Click the Device Settings tab and click Settings.
    4. Click Tapping and select the Enable Tapping option.
    5. On the left of Tapping, click the plus (+) mark and click Tap Zones.
    6. Select the Enable Tap Zones option.
    7. On the left of Tap Zones, click the plus (+) mark and select the corner to where the function is to be set.
    8. From the list of operations on the right of the screen, select Record and Play a sequence of Keystrokes and click Configure.
    9. Click Start and operate those keys (shortcut key) to be recorded.

    10. When completed, click Stop and click OK.
