Sony’s True RGB. –The Future of Colour–

Powered by a newly evolved Backlight Master Drive—built on two decades of innovation—Sony’s True RGB drives three-color LEDs independently. It delivers unprecedented colour volume, precise colour gradation, and a significantly wider viewing angle—enhancing the movie-watching experience even further.

The superior value only RGB can deliver

Pure colour by Three-colour RGB LEDs

Conventional LED TVs create light with blue LEDs and converted it to colour through filters.Three-colour RGB LED TVs, with independently driven RGB LEDs, generate colour directly, achieving exceptionally faithful colour reproduction with no colour muddiness.

The Power of Sony’s True RGB

A new era of uncompromising color accuracy

Sony unites the colour range of our flagship QD-OLED with the high brightness of Mini LED. This breakthrough enables a new level of colour volume—and the ability to render even more accurate colours.

See the hidden depths like never before

From the brightest peak to the darkest shadow, Sony’s True RGB faithfully reproduces even the finest tonal details. It brings the full depth of the story vividly to life on screen.

Colour, amplified at every layer

Conventional LED TVs generate colour only at the LCD ② layer, which limits vibrancy. Sony’s True RGB creates colour at both the backlight LED ① and the layer ② ー so colours appear richer, brighter, and more vivid on screen than ever before.

Less flare. Deeper contrast

Sony's True RGB produces colour through both the backlight LEDs and the LCD layer, suppressing white flare that can cause images to appear washed out, and delivering high-contrast, visually stunning images.

Colour, faithfully reproduced

Sony’s True RGB applies technology that has been proven in B2B professional environments. It continuously senses the state of each LED in real time and dynamically corrects colour characteristics. As a result, the emission balance of individual LEDs is optimised, enabling consistently high colour fidelity regardless of the input video.
