    Use the TalkBack (screen reader) feature on your Google TV™

    TalkBack (screen reader) is an accessibility feature that reads aloud text displayed on the TV screen, such as program guides and settings screens, to help users with visual impairments navigate and use the TV. It provides spoken feedback about the selected item and guidance for using on-screen features.
    An internet connection is required to use the TalkBack (screen reader) feature.

    Before you start

    • TalkBack (screen reader) is available from the initial setup screen in the following regions and languages:
      • North America region: English, French, Spanish
      • Europe region: English, German, French, Spanish
    • When the TalkBack (screen reader) feature is activated, eARC mode will be set to Off.
    • The Accessibility shortcut function lets you turn the TalkBack (screen reader) feature on or off by pressing and holding the Back button and the Down buttons on the remote control for at least 3 seconds.

    Activate the TalkBack (screen reader) feature　

    1. On the remote control, press the HOME button.
    2. Press the Dashboard (gear) button.
    3. Select Accessibility.
    4. Select TalkBack (screen reader).
    5. Select Enable and set it to On.
    6. Select OK.

    Adjust the TalkBack (screen reader) volume in relation to the TV volume

    1. On the remote control, press the HOME button.
    2. Press the Dashboard (gear) button.
    3. Select Accessibility.
    4. Select TalkBack (screen reader).
    5. Select Configuration.
    6. Select Speech volume.
    7. Select your preferred speech volume from Match speech volume to 25% of speech volume.
      Note: Same as speech volume is the max volume setting for TalkBack (screen reader).

    Change the speech rate

    1. On the remote control, press the HOME button.
    2. Press the Dashboard (gear) button.
    3. Select Accessibility.
    4. Select TalkBack (screen reader).
    5. Select Configuration.
    6. Select Speech rate.
    7. Select your preferred speech rate from 60% to 400%.
