Why do the Operating System and programs become unstable after performing Windows Update?
After performing Windows Update, the Operating System and programs become unstable and the system stops responding frequently.
Please check if Windows XP Hotfix (SP1) (See Q317277 for more information) is added to the Add or Remove Programs directory. If so, please uninstall it.
If Warning window of uninstalling Q317277 appears at the time of uninstallation, click Yes.
Note:
- If the symptom disappears after uninstalling the above program, please refrain from installing Program to solve the problem of the appearance of the error message of system recovery using Windows Update.
- If the System has recovered from a serious error message appears repeatedly, install Program to solve the problem of the appearance of the error message of system recovery through Windows Update. Check that the symptom does not appear and then uninstall the program.
