Why does the [Standby] menu disappear from the list of [Shutdown Windows] when I click [Yes] to the [The last few times your computer went on standby, it stopped responding. Would you like to prevent your computer from going on standby in the future?] message?
Standby or System Suspend has been set to disabled.
Clicking [Yes] to the [The last few times your computer went on standby, it stopped responding. Would you like to prevent your computer from going on standby in the future?] message will disable the Standby or System Suspend feature.
To enable the feature, refer to the procedure below:
1. Click [Start] -> [Run].
2. Type [msconfig] in the text box and click the [OK] button. The [System Configuration Utility] window appears.
3. Click the [Advanced] button in the [General] tab. The [Advanced Troubleshooting Settings] window appears.
4. Click the [Enable] button that appears on the right side of the [Standby feature is disabled] window and click [OK].
5. Click [OK] to close the [System Configuration Utility] window.
6. The Standby feature is enabled after you restart Windows.
