The problem may be resolved by disabling software that was installed to be used with Internet Explorer or by disabling the Browser Helper Objects of Internet Explorer.
Note: While this procedure may resolve problems caused by deceptive ware, it may also disable the functions of software that are running normally.
The steps are based on the VAIO model pre-installed with Windows® XP. Messages will differ depending on the model and environment.
1. Double-click the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop.
2. Click Tools from the menu and then click Internet Options.
3. Click the Advanced tab and under Browsing, disable the Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart).
4. Click OK and restart Windows.
