Picture freezes from DV iLink input or computer locks up when using iLink input
When using the iLink input the picture will freeze and at times the computer may lock up. This effect can be intermmittent. Also you can generally get good pictures with no indication of problem between lockouts.
One cause of such a problem can be a faulty iLink (Firewire) cable. The cable can be internally damaged with no outward sign of problem. Flexing or moving the cable can bring on the fault.
