    How do I change the settings of digital and analog playback of a music CD with Media Bar and Windows Media Player 7?

    You can change the settings of digital and analog playback of a music CD both in the properties of CD-ROM of [Device Manager] and in the options of [Windows Media Player 7].

    A) To change settings using [Device Manager]
    1. Click [Start] -> [Settings] -> [Control Panel] and double-click on the [System] icon.

    2. Click the [Hardware] tab in the [System Properties] dialog box.
    In the case of Windows 2000, click the [Device Manager] button.
    In the case of Windows Me, click the [Device Manager].

    3. In the case of Windows 2000, double-click on the [DVD/CD-ROM drives] icon in the [Device Manager] window. Right-click on the displayed CD-ROM drive name and click [Properties].
    In the case of Windows Me, click the displayed CD-ROM drive name and click the [Properties] button.

    4) Click the [Properties] tab in the [(Any drive name) Properties] dialog box.

    5) Select the [Enable digital CD audio for this CD-ROM device] checkbox in the [Digital CD Playback] box and click [OK].

    B) To change settings using [Windows Media Player 7]
    1. Click [Start] -> [Programs] -> [Windows Media Player].

    2. Click [Options] in the [Tools] menu of the [Windows Media Player] window.

    3. Select the [Digital Playback] checkbox in the [Playback Settings] box and click [OK].

    The relationship of the above setting (i.e. selecting the digital playback checkbox) and digital/analog playback of the music CD are as follows:

    CD-ROM Properties settings: Off, Off, On, On

    Windows Media Player 7 settings: Off, On, Off, On

    Media Bar: Analog, Analog, Digital, Digital

    Windows Media Player 7: Analog, Digital, Digital, Digital

    * On/Off in the above list shows the turning on or off of the digital playback checkbox.
