How to close a program which has stopped responding?
To close a program that has stopped responding, please follow the steps below.
1. Press and hold the Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys simultaneously.
2. In the Applications tab, select the application (task) that shows the No response sign and click End Task.
In most cases, Windows XP allows user to kill/end task a program without affecting the entire system or other applications.
On rare occasions, if the running program has affected the entire system, user may need to turn off the computer and restart.
