Why does an error message appear when Windows is restarted after the system restore process?

Err Msg:
System Restore
Restoration Incomplete
Your computer cannot be restored to:
Date
Restore Point Name

This restoration is incomplete. It was interrupted by an improper shutdown. You should undo this restore or choose another restore point. To choose another restore point, restart System Restore.


This symptom occurs sometimes when the system is not shut down properly during the execution of system restore.
To resolve this symptom, user can
a. Restore the system using the same restore point again or select another restore point to restore the system.
b. Cancel the previous restore and bring the system back to the previous state.
