Why is it that when I insert a Memory Stick with the write-protect tab locked, into the Memory Stick adaptor (MSAC-PS2, etc.), an error occurs sometimes?




To be able to use the Memory Stick without the error message appearing, unlock the write-protect tab on the Memory Stick.

We have obtained the following information on the use of the Memory Stick adaptor on Windows ME pre-installed machines.
When the PC card, whereby a locked Memory Stick is inserted, is loaded to the computer, the [Disk Write Error Unable to write to disk in drive F:Data of files may be lost. Press any key to continue.] message appears and the screen turns blue.

Press any key and the system will start without any problem. Your data will not be lost at that time.

When the file that is saved to the locked Memory Stick is dragged and copied to a hard disk, the above message appears sometimes. It may also sometimes appear in the midst of copying the file. However, pressing any key will enable the copying to be carried out without any problem.
