You might experience that you can’t use two SIM cards and one memory card at the same time in some Xperia devices. This is because the hybrid SIM tray/trays that is used in these devices only allow you to either insert an additional SIM card or a memory card.

The hybrid SIM tray occupies less space. If you want to use two SIM cards, it’s not possible to expand the storage of the device using a memory card.

Note! There are Xperia models that do not feature a hybrid SIM tray in their dual SIM variants. On these devices, it is possible to use two SIM cards and a microSD card at the same time. They are:

• Xperia L1 Dual SIM (G3312)
• Xperia L2 Dual SIM (H4311, H4331)
• Xperia L3 Dual SIM (I4312, I4332)
• Xperia XA1 Dual SIM (G3112, G3116)
• Xperia XA1 Ultra Dual SIM (G3212, G3226)
• Xperia XA1 Plus Dual SIM (G3412, G3416)
• Xperia XA2 Ultra Dual SIM (H4213, H4233)
• Xperia XA2 Plus Dual SIM (H4413, H4433, H4493)
• Xperia 10 Plus Dual SIM (I4213, I4293)

In the Xperia XZ Premium Dual SIM and the Xperia XZ1 Dual, the SIM card trays have room for one SIM card. The memory card tray allows you to use either a second SIM card or a memory card.

Xperia 10 IV Dual SIM

Your device supports nano SIM cards.

The XQ-CC54 supports the use of one nano SIM card and a memory card. You can use the device as a dual SIM device by inserting a nano SIM card and configuring an eSIM.

The XQ-CC72 supports the use of either two nano SIM cards or a nano SIM card and a memory card.

Note!

• Even if you use two SIMs that support 5G, you can only use 5G on the SIM set for data traffic. You cannot use 5G on two SIMs at the same time.
• XQ-CC54: You do not need to insert a nano SIM card if you will only use an eSIM.
• Unmount the memory card before removing it to prevent loss of data. To remove the memory card safely, find and tap [Settings] >[Storage], tap [This device] to select [SD card], and then tap  (More icon) > [Eject].
• Note: Do not cut your SIM card, as this may damage your device.

1. Drag out the SIM card tray.
2. Place the main SIM card securely in position for SIM1.
3. Place either the second SIM card (SIM2) or the memory card securely in the tray, in the correct orientation.
4. Gently push the SIM card tray back into the slot until it fits into place.

 

Xperia 1 IV Dual SIM / Xperia 5 IV Dual SIM

Your device supports nano SIM cards. 
The XQ-CT54 /XQ-CQ54 supports the use of one nano SIM card and a memory card. You can use the device as a dual SIM device by inserting a nano SIM card and configuring an eSIM.
The XQ-CT62/XQ-CT72/XQ-CQ62/XQ-CQ72 supports the use of either two nano SIM cards or a nano SIM card and a memory card.

Note!

• Even if you use two SIMs that support 5G, you can only use 5G on the SIM set for data traffic. You cannot use 5G on two SIMs at the same time.
• XQ-CT54/XQ-CQ54: You do not need to insert a nano SIM card if you will only use an eSIM.

Xperia 10 III Dual SIM / Xperia PRO-I Dual SIM

Your device only supports nano-SIM cards. Dual SIM devices support the use of either two nano SIM cards or a nano SIM card and a memory card.

Note! 

• To prevent data loss, make sure you turn off your device before you drag out the tray to remove the nano-SIM card (or cards) or memory card from the device.
• Even if you insert two SIM cards that support 5G, you can only use 5G on the SIM card set for data traffic. You cannot use 5G on two SIM cards at the same time
• Do not cut your SIM card, as this may damage your device.

1. Drag out the SIM card tray.
2. Place the main SIM card securely in position for SIM1.

To insert either two nano-SIM cards or a nano-SIM card and a memory card

Your device only supports nano-SIM cards. Dual-SIM devices support the use of either two nano-SIM cards or a nano-SIM card and a memory card.

Dual-SIM devices are not available in all markets or from all operators.

Note! 

• To prevent data loss, make sure you turn off your device before you drag out the tray to remove the nano-SIM card (or cards) or memory card from the device.

• Do not cut your SIM card, as this may damage your device.

1. Drag out the SIM card tray.
2. Place the main SIM card securely in position for SIM1.
3. Place either the second SIM card (SIM2) or the memory card securely in the tray, in the correct orientation.
4. Gently push the SIM card tray back into the slot until it fits into place.

 

Xperia 10 Dual SIM

To insert either two nano SIM cards or a nano SIM card and a memory card

1. Drag out the SIM and memory card trays.
2. Place the main SIM card securely in position for SIM1.
3. Place either the second SIM card (SIM2) or the memory card securely in the tray, in the correct orientation.
4. Gently push the trays back into the slots until they fit into place.

Xperia XZ1 Dual SIM

To insert two SIM cards

1. Drag out tray 1 and tray 2.
2. Place the main SIM card securely in tray 1.
3. Place the second SIM card securely in tray 2.
4. Gently push first tray 1, then tray 2, back into their slots until they fit into place.

Xperia XZ1 Dual SIM

To insert one SIM card and one micro SD card

1. Drag out the memory card tray and the SIM card tray.
2. Place the SIM card securely in the SIM card tray.
3. Place the memory card securely in the memory card tray.
4. Gently push first the SIM card tray, then the memory card tray, back into their slots until they fit into place.

The Xperia XZ Premium Dual SIM has one primary SIM card tray and one combined tray that allows you to use either an additional SIM card or a memory card. To insert two SIM cards

1. Drag out the memory card tray and the SIM card tray.
2. Place SIM 1 securely in the SIM card tray.
3. Place SIM 2 securely in the memory card tray.
4. Push first the SIM card tray, then the memory card tray, back into their slots until they fit into place.

Xperia XZ Premium Dual SIM

To insert one SIM card and one microSD card

1. Drag out the memory card tray and the SIM card tray.
2. Place the SIM card securely in the SIM card tray.
3. Place the memory card securely in the memory card tray.
4. Gently push first the SIM card tray, then the memory card tray, back into their
   slots until they fit into place.

1. Using your fingernail, drag out the SIM/memory card tray.
2. Place SIM 1 securely in the correct orientation in the SIM card tray section.
3. Place SIM 2 securely in the correct orientation in the memory card tray section.
4. Push the tray back into the slot until it fits into place.

Xperia 5 Dual SIM

To insert one SIM card and one micro SD card

1. Using your fingernail, drag out the SIM/memory card tray.
2. Place the SIM card securely in the correct orientation in the SIM card tray section. 
3. Place the memory card securely in the correct orientation in the memory card tray section.
4. Push the tray back into the slot until it fits into place.
