Electronic Devices Marketing Hong Kong Company (EDMH) was previously known as Sony Electronic Devices (HK) Limited (SED). The company was established in November 1993 and commenced full operation in January 1994. On 1 December 1999, SED became a divisional company of Sony Corporation of Hong Kong Limited and was later renamed Electronic Devices Marketing Hong Kong. On 1 April 2009, the new EDMH consisting of electronic devices (ED) as well as recording media and energy (RME) businesses is officially established.

Starting from 1973, Sony Hong Kong acquired the Fook Yuen Electronics Company Limited and subsequently established Hong Kong Marketing Company as a divisional company and made it a sole distributor of Sony products in Hong Kong.
