This converter is due for an upgrade, images are soft

Useful with a number of my lenses. Works well with minimal image degradation. Best teleconverter I have ever owned.

I bought this to give the 70-200 F4 OSSII more reach in sunny conditions. I read some reviews about image quality dropping, but i could not see any on the A7Riii. Definity a great purchase and together a great upgrade from the first 70-200 F4

Very happy with the sharpness of the teleconverter.

I got the 1.4x mainly for my 70-200 2.8. Snug fit and really couldn’t see any grainage with the increased f-stops and upped iso. I was at 1600 iso at dusk and pleasantly sharp.

There are always compromises when tele-converters are added. By comparison to TC2.0x, this tele-converter has managed a sweet spot in overall performance! A must have gear if you shoot birds or even the moon!!

Brought the product from Pro-AV. Excellent service and delivery. Product works a treat too 10/10.

I haven't had much time to use it, but so far I've had mixed feelings. Some great shots, and some not so great. Need more time to use it before I can give an accurate review.

On a 7RIII with 200-600 lens it works sort of OK, best in really good light. On a 7RV with the 2-600 and ok light, works good.

Love my 1.4 tele to get the extra reach when shooting outdoor daylight sports. Lookin forward to seeing what it can do with the new 300 f2.8 when I’m fortunate enough to get one.

Attached it to my 70-200 GM2 both bought at the same time very good for wildlife.

Amazing for birding with the 100-400 and the A7RV. Found that the focus grabs quickly, and tracks well.

I bought this 1.4 teleconverter about a month ago and the magnification and light loss are what I was expecting. I use it with my 7RIII and 200-600mm zoom for birding. All three are new to me. So, I am still experimenting with camera settings.

I bought this together with the new 70-200 F4 G II lens and it is small and compact. Really easy to use and gives you that extra bit of reach. Liked the case that it came in as it offers good protection.

I don't do a lot of Wildlife Photography, but when I do the 1.4 TC provides 40% extra reach to the 100-400 GM and 200-600 G lenses. It's not cheap but it is well constructed and performs well for a TC.

Does exactly what I expected, very happy. Little impact on focus speed and image sharpness, I prefer it to the 2x converter .

The 1.4x TV is a well build product. Works great with the 70-200mm and 200-600mm lens.

The Sony 1.4 tele converter is just what I need to capture amazing closeups using my 100-400 G Master tele. It focuses fast as well.

Got this for 600 f4, did not really feel much difference using 1 vs none in area of performance at all. Might be why Sony did not bother to make a 800mm lens when the TC works well enough.

Really happy to use it on my 200-600 lens. Picture quality is great.

Acquired this 1.4TC to complement my 100-400MM OSS GM. A prefect combination!

It is a practical mean of increasing "reach" to cater for specific shooting situations. But keep in mind that IQ will be less than optimal when using a TC, especially when focusing speed is important.

Bought this a few weeks ago and tried it over the weekends on some birding photography. Please with the focusing speed and resolution.

Excellent bit of kit but ridiculously expensive. Does make your lens hunt a bit especially in low light but all makes have that effect on so not a problem you just have to get used to how it effects things.

The 1.4tc is fantastic bit of kit no loss in quality or focus speed

I have been using the x2 TC for some time and found it to perform quite well in good, clear, and sunny conditions with my SONY FE400 f/2.8. However, I needed something more forgiving for less perfect conditions with faster focusing and better resolution: I am very happy to say my first tests with the x1.4 perfectly filled that gap :-)

Excellent quality when extra “reach” is needed. No noticeable quality lost but minimum aperture on 600mm is f/ 9.

I bought this teleconverter to give me more reach when attached to my Sony 200-600mm zoom lens. The image is still sharp with the zoom lens and teleconverter combo. The cons for the teleconverter is a loss of about 1 stop of light and I found the camera took a bit longer to lock focus of the subject

未用過增距器的影友會擔心對相片質素有所影響，但若在日間使用，我發覺影響並不會太明顯，是打雀影友的必需品。個人覺得價錢稍貴，性價比較低，若便宜一點將會更受歡迎。

I have the 1.4x teleconverter on my Sony 200-600mm mounted on an A6400. A lot of my photos are longer range birds. I had read mixed reviews about pictures getting soft on the upper end. In good light, you'd need to pixel peep on a well composed photo. For closer shots, I could not pick out a photo taken with the 1.4 compared to not using one.

Will this TC it ever receive firware upgradeto accept Sigma's 100-400? As Sony has limited Sigma's ability to use the Sony e mount for lenses only, and not for TCs also, Sony should make the TC able to accept sigma lenses as well. "As you noticed, yes, we released a new TELE CONVERTER TC-1411/2011 for L-mount camera, but not for Sony E-mount camera, which must be unreasonable for you. As you may already know, we are licensed from Sony to design and produce Sony E-mount lenses, and it must be done in accordance with Sony E-mount specifications and license agreement. In the specifications and agreement, there are no statements on teleconverters. So, this is why we cannot design and produce Sony-E mount teleconverters. So, at this point, we have no concrete plan and schedule for making TELE CONVERTER TC-1411 in Sony E-mount. We are so sorry we are letting you down. I sent mine in for repair after years of use. I love it because I can get much closer with only losing a bit of light. Its certaininly worth it and seems to go on faste rthan changing lenses.

Have had the 1.4 Teleconverter a month now. It’s an excellent addition to my 200-400 G lens.

Great to give extra 1.4x reach. However, image quality does reduced a bit, prone to shake, noise more visible. In my last test on my A7R3+FE 200-600mm, the best results were to keep ISO below 1000 and Focus Point set to Small. I still managed to get good results at 1/400s shutter speed on tripod.

I got this to supplement the reach of the 100-400mm GM lens as some photos needed the extra reach.

Really enjoy it so far. Rented it first, then bought it the next day. Especially useful for the moon, and for macro shots with the FE 100-400 F/4.5-5.6GM.

I've used the 1.4TC many times now and the results are very good. It is obviously well made/quality and the images have no noticeable loss in sharpness. Increases the f stop from my 200-600mm lens which has a constant f6.3 to a constant f9. I use this mainly for getting 'closer' to static or slow moving wildlife and am very happy with it. I'm finding that im leaving it on the long lens most of the time. There are auto focus limitations due to the reduction in f stop (on my A7R3) - so maintaining focus with all shots whilst panning birds in flight is more difficult (but by no means impossble.) Of course for static or slow moving subjects there is no problem at all and you can use manual focus (with peaking) if needed. Very pleased.

Unbelievably sharp on my copy of the 200-600 zoom. 840mm sharp as a tack and if you have good ligh you can get tack sharp handheld. But you need good light.

Gives that bit extra reach when needed. There is no loss of image quality with the 1.4 on either the 70-200 2.8 or the 200-600 G. Overpriced though as these tc’s tend to be.

I enjoy using the 1.4 x better with my 200-600 mm f5.6-6.3 zoom. attached to my gimbal/tripod for wildlife photography. I've the 2x teleconverter too but i prefer the 1.4x better.

When paired with the 100-400mm GM lens, there's no discernible loss of sharpness and only at 200% magnification can the slightest loss of contrast detail be observed. Yields an angle of view of roughly 840mm when used on the a6400, with images that rival those of the far more expensive prime super telephotos.

Bought a month ago. Works great with the exception of fast action and sports on my 70200 f2.8 GM OSS lens. Don't let that stop you though! Does well aside from that.

When I used this with my Sony 100-400 I didn’t have any problems image quality is great
