Having already owned an A6000, 7ii, 7iii and R7V before this I can safely say the A1ii is without a doubt the most fun camera I’ve ever used! Whatever you throw at it it handles with ease and the IQ is superb. pre-capture and 30fps make taking birds in flight or even take-off a breeze and the Autofocus is peerless.

I brought this a month ago, and I am happy I did. I am using this camera for bird photography, and overall, the performance is satisfying. The auto focus is fast especially real time tracking. Image quality is excellent.

A feature packed camera! Upgraded from A7RV. Key features for me is pre-capture function, AI tracking and cleaner images at high ISO. IQ is definitely more advance to A7RV. Camera grip is good too!

Wow! I upgraded to the A1 ii from the A7R V which wis a stunning camera...but the A1 ii is another level. The AF (I have upgraded to firmware V4.0) is almost supernatural in its ability to find and hang on to an object and the contrast and colours of the OOC images are as good as I have ever seen from Sony, Canon or Fujifilm. A stunning piece of technology.

I am primarily a wildlife photographer. I have only used the A1ii for two weeks, so, I am still gaining the deep knowledge required to use the camera to its full potential. However saying that it is without any doubt the best camera I have ever used. I have the original A1 which is a very capable camera about which I have no complaints. The A1ii just puts the icing on the cake with fantastic auto focus, pre-capture, improved lowlight performance, better image stabilisation, more dynamic range and a better body.

I've had an original A1 for over a year along with an A7RV for aviation and wildlife photography. I very much enjoyed the superior subject detect on the A7RV but didn't enjoy the rolling shutter issues. On retirement I have treated myself to an A1ii which blends the superior handling/response of the A1 with the subject detect of the A7RV. One welcome feature is the slightly bigger body as I found the older bodies to be a little small for my hand especially in the gap between the lens and the grip, that is now no longer an issue for me. I have only dabbled with the precapture but hope to be reaping the rewards of this feature soon. All in all a positive step forward and the A7RV traded in.

This camera is outstanding, fitting comfortably in my hand, and the 4-axis screen proves to be a valuable asset. The inclusion of the C5 button allows for added customization to access more functions. Nevertheless, battery life falls short of expectations, presumably due to the high-performance processors, limiting usage to just half a day per charge.

Didn’t think it would be better than my a1 but it’s a huge improvement

Being an A1 owner i held of until the a1ii price came down enought to make me buy it , really only got it for the precapture , the dual battery charger is a bonus plus the extra small spot etc in the focus area settings , pity they decided the make the battery grip non interchangeable between both models. Have not had chance to test how amazing the "Ai" is.

I love my a1 mk2 it never lets me down. All weathers all genres it holds strong.

I've now had a bit of time to use the new A1ii to leave an honest review.. Firstly my background is that I'm a keen amateur photographer mainly specialising in wildlife. Coming from Minolta Dynax 7000i and 8000i to a Sony a700 before graduating to mirrorless a7iii, a1 and now this fantastic upgrade from the original A1. My key points are 1...ai auto focus with subject recognition.. Once set it doesn't let go of the subject 2... Crisper sharper images with a better handling of noise at the higher iso values 3... Pre-capture, I wasn't expecting it to be as good or as useful as it is.. 4.. The speed boost button I have it set so I can toggle between on and off but I may change it back to press and hold to activate it as I keep forgetting it's turned on so end up with loads of photos. But this is down to how I've set it up. 4.. Custom buttons.. This is a very customisable camera to set it up to suit your own needs for whatever you are shooting.. I'm still learning with it and setting it up for my own style of photography.. But I can say that I am very impressed so far.. When it was 1st announced I didn't think that I would get the benefit or it was much of an upgrade from the original a1... How wrong I was! I am in no way sponsored by Sony and have purchased all of my own equipment.. I absolutely love this camera.. Please Sony do not bring out an a1iii just yet as I can't afford to upgrade again so soon. As a foot note I have tried to add some superb photos of a Kingfisher that I took with this camera but Sony's moderator twice declined them saying that they were inappropriate... quite how they worked that out beats me!

比較上一代, 整體體驗提升, 無論機身設計, AI 對焦都有進步, 過場模式可以加到快捷鍵很方便, 雖然Resolution, 連拍如以往一樣, 但防震, 低光對焦, 都有明顯進步.

Bought the Sony 1aii in late Nov 2025. The A1ii is a fantastic camera and the features are great (ie: 30fps, 50mp, pre-capture, etc) and met all my photographic need... BUT (not sure if Sony will listen and take this review seriously)... Being one of your loyal customers for years (been with Sony since i bought the Sony A6000 APSC camera then the A6700 and now the A1ii) I paid top-dollar for your top-of-the-line Sony flagship camera for the 30fps and pre-capture (cos any Sony camera other than the flagship line-up do not have more than 15fps and pre-capture etc) and 1 year after the A1ii, you come out with a A7v with 30FPS and PRE-CAPTURE matching your FLAGSHIP camera at HALF the A1ii price!! SONY is taking your top-of-the-line loyal customer for granted and make us look like a fool paying a penalty for extra money where other Sony users just need to pay HALF the price to get your flagship camera's features!.... SONY ! this is so disappointing ! Making us look like clown in front of those A7V users. That's my review... Sony are you listening and doing something about it???

有時不能認個支200-600 有啲麻煩，但支200-600 在A7 4 時，非好用未試過有問題。不過 A1 II 真係快好多

Bought the a1 ii earlier this month. Very pleased so far.

Easily world's best flagship full frame camera. Big YES

So far I love the camera and the simple redesign, but for the money I can't believe they did not include a simple USB C cable.

Just getting used to this camera. So far it exceeds expectations. So FAST so Easy.

The A1ii lives up to its reputation of being the best camera. Beautiful coloration and the new creator app compliments the camera making download on the go seamless.

I bought the A1ii to use along with my A9 that I have been using for many years. A9 is still a very good camera but the A1ii is so much better in many ways. The AF speed is superb and the high MP means I can use it for studio or editorial shoot where my client need a higher MP camera.

The menu is intuitive & color coded for easy searching. Is there an online manual to show how to surf the menu due the large number of customisable functions. Maybe a tree map would be good. Need to search for info online to find out more. Best practices for memory ate also highly appreciated.

我個人覺得新A1M II確是追焦比之前準很多其他也很大進步由其是影快相個part有九成半以上清楚，配合我用pz28-135或AF50-150gmf2由或AF70-200gmIIf2.8是絕配去旅行，動態相影動物氣車及船都達致如期，但舊A1除咗個mode只能向上下其實也可以繼續用我會保留下來做後備機。

I bought this camera one month ago and have tested for few weekend and I am happy with my selection of this camera A1ii .

It took me several months to make my mind up to trade in my A1 which was almost 4 years old having bought it soon after it was issued.. I'm so pleased I have moved on despite being very happy with the A1. The new functions included are perfect for wildlife and action photography which is my main interests. If you are reading my feedback with doubt in your, go for it, I'm pleased I did, It's a truly great camera.

畫質優異,對焦超強,Touch 及新menu,具備高像素，可用高ISO和強勁對焦,A1 ii 雖然係貴，但一部機身可以強化了整套系統，對焦速度及畫質都提升不少，都算物有所值

好用, 一秒30張加預拍攝再加上5千萬像素, 無論是運動, 鳥攝還是街拍都十分有用. 新的反轉屏十分便利於拍攝直相. 另外在選擇對焦辦識物時, 有自動真的很方便. 可惜在記憶卡方面暫時不支援CFA 4.0, 希望日後會有更新

Great camera. Would be greater if SONY's version of the RAW format was compatible with Mac's the way the Mark 1 was. Also, the version is still 1.0 necessitating a complex upgrade right out of the box. For Mac people, this is a problem/

I got the Sony a1 ii about 3 weeks ago and couldn’t wait as I have the a6700 and a7iv for sports and to be honest am disappointed in the sharpness and quality of photos. I shoot sports and the only thing I like is pre-capture

It's my first time using the sony A1ii for birding, was on DSLR before, still trying to figure out those settings, but i could tell the focusing speed and tracking were fast and spot on most of the time.

I bought this A1 ii to replace my A1. The A1 is still a fantastic camera but the A1 ii is just amazing. The auto focus is soo good. the new floppy screen is so convenient. All in all it is the best camera I have ever used. I love it.

Every feature you require in a camera can be found on the Sony A1 ll

I like the ergonomics over the a1 mk1. Focus acquisition is excellent and a definite improvement. I was disappointed to see the same hot shoe cover as the A1 is still there. It lets water onto the contacts and the camera locks up. I did mention this when I bought the A1 but nothing has been done to address this weakness. If the mk2 locks up in the same way, I will have to resort to using a Nikon hot shoe cover Bs-3 to protect the contacts and prevent damp getting to them. I am not the only one to have this issue but so far it has been ignored by Sony. So a brilliant camera with one potential Achilles heel. Come on Sony listed to your users as I shouldn’t have to be going to a third party rival at this price point.

功能跟 A1第一代差不多，pre-capture是一個很好的功能，但 stabilization 及 自動追焦沒有明顯改善，看不到 AI的威力，希望將來的 firmware update 可以利用多一點 AI 的功能把自動針對焦改善。

自從2017年全面轉用Sony系統，一直期待A1的二代發布，2024年11月終於出現。 使用兩個多月，基本上無論手感、操控、AI對焦性能及準確度，畫質表現都十分滿意，至於連拍速度，30FPS+Pre capture足夠應付日常9x%需求。另外，APSC mode 能夠彌補鏡頭焦距不足情況下，仍然提供 21 megapixels 的像素，大大增加靈活性。

I have had the camera two weeks now, I can’t believe how good it is. I use it mainly for wildlife, the tracking features are second to none, the low light capabilities are just amazing.

My original a1 was already a game changer in the way I captured wildlife, and I never regretted. But it did have certain areas where I wished improvements would come. The a1 II brought all those into play, and I was able to instantly see the results! My top three favourites: much better (AI) focus tracking, better RAW quality files and pre-capture killer function!

I see many improvements that were missing in the previous model. Great small high resolution package paired with GM lens. I have already seen the first firmware update 2, and hope to see a regular firmware upgrade to further polish the camera.

First to order in Singapore. Sony fan. How can i not support Sony's newest flagship. Camera was good to begin with. With new firmware update, even better

The continuous auto focusing can be quite a challenge occasionally. Got to reset the camera to factory setting after some meddling and the shutter becomes silent.. Just hoping SONY can release some firmware upgrade soonest.

I bought the camera when it first launched. I like it even though it has the same spec as the original a1.

到手不久.工作較忙.只試過1.2次機.不過可能有點未慣.眼球對焦好似未如理想.感覺A1更好一點.其實如AI暫時覺得係方便同智能左.

I am one of the 50 1st preorder customers in Singapore. Received my camera on 20-Dec-24. Within the first hours of trying to understand the Menu system, the display screen intermittently displayed vertical block of lines. Reported to Sony Store @313 Somerset and requested for replacement. Unfortunately I have to wait till the next batch arrives sometime in January. Nevertheless I was able to used the unit for the time being and had been out on the fields shooting birds. Performance-wise I love the precapture feature and the AF is awesome.

Upgraded from the A1, no regrets - just made an amazing camera even better. Love the new screen - plus still able to use as a normal flip-up screen but now have the added benefit of multi-angle (That alone is worth it IMO) and better EVF - precapture works well. New body will be a blessing for some (I have big hands so the original A1 wasnt an issue for me but def feels better). Autofocus is def an improvement for sure and seems more accurate (AI chip). Overall I think its a great upgrade to an already fantastic camera. Obviosly its up to you and your budget but for ME its awesome and worth it :)

I have 2 A1 bodies that have been my work horses since release. While the A1 II is more evolutionary than revolutionary, it is still a worthy upgrade and improves on all the features that I use. Ergonomics has improved significantly. The UI is better in my opinion. AF, subject detection, stabilization, speed have all been improved.

之前用過A1第一代。現在用二代，感覺有一樣亦然都是非常不滿意！就是防塵功能，當在電子快門時，當開啟靜音功能時，就沒有防塵功能，快門簾就不會關上！這個是到第二代亦然失望

I’ve had the camera for a few weeks now,and enjoying every bit of it,love the customising on the buttons best,and the tilt back screen.

I've had my A1 II for a week now but not much chance of using it so far due to the weather and work commitments. However, my initial thoughts. Note: I used the Mark Galer camset with a bit of Colby Brown and my own mods to get me going. I always liked the relatively small size of the Mk1, the Mk2 is larger but more comfortable with the shutter button better placed. The right-hand strap point slightly higher so it no longer rubs on my finger. The power switch is slightly more resistant/stiffer; a definite bonus as my Mk1 was always switching on in my camera bag. Although fractionally lighter, I don't notice it, probably due to the increased size making me think it's actually heavier 🙂 Low light performance is excellent and the improved IBIS awesome - you can hand hold are very low speeds. AI subject recognition is super-fast and sticky. I have it set to auto and it happily switches between dogs, cats and people. Nice to have the focus bracketing - I use it a lot for macro on my A7RV. I've taken a range of landscape and street photographs with the 24-70GM2 but lack of support for RAW in my chosen editor Capture One is holding me back a bit. I could use JPEG or HEIF but happy to wait. ON1 and Affinity Photo 2 do work with the Mk2 raw so will try them. Looking forward to trying BIF when I get the chance.
