I have been looking for a soundbar for my TV for quite some time. Stumbled upon this particular soundbar from SONY with the added advantage of a wireless surround sound system and immediately purchased it. Sound quality is excellent and am very happy with my purchase.

I bought last month this speaker after use it found sume connection prob using BT…the base sound also quite slow compare to my SRS-XP500…maybe watt is not enough…but for me value to buy

How can I update the software? It’s not quite as excellent as I had hoped, but it could be better once updated.

I bought my HT-S40R about 2 years ago. I have been seriously using it. It still sounds great. It was money well worth spent!

You can't go wrong with a Sony Product, this system is awesome and sounds amazing, easy to set up, we love it. Our neighbors loved it so much they went and bought them one the next day.

I was very satisfied with my HT-R3 set when out of sudden it failed on me. So after researching through the web & youtube, i decided to buy the HT-S40R. It was great but not as amazing as the HT-R3 as i found the sound from the S40R is not as crisp as the R3. Nevertheless, S40R is still a good choice if you’re looking into affordability.

After a month of use and I am very satisfied with the HT-S40R, it is best value for money hits the price bracket perfectly and delivers superior movie experience. It was a breeze to setup and just works perfectly out of the box. It does have the volume and depth with a solid sound. Highly recommended for anyone who is looking for a great sounding soundbar that does not cost a bomb and does not require all the fancy features.

The blue light discount was a well appreciated extra. The soundbar is awesome. Especially with the two rear speakers making a full dound experience. They also help when watching TV at night with the sound down. The wireless connection made installation so simple. Also the soundbar turns on/off and volume with the tv remote. Good specification for most users.

In my case I couldn't use eARC hdmi port because it was already in use but optical port did the trick. Very good sound if you have a proper 5.1 content.

The sound is good in overall. It would be better if there is an equaliser for user to set the bass or treble manually.

We are happy with our product, great sound and a reasonable price

About the sound it is great but the manual on how to adjust the sound is bad. It is just as simple as map for the menu and the description that all I need, not how to make the connection for the speaker. The connectivity basic, everyone who purchase the item should know but how to browse your menu and what it does is more important.

I bought this 2 weeks ago and the sound is brilliant it's like being in the cinema

I brought this to replace a much older system that was failing and am so glad that I did. Simple to set up to the TV and the wireless back surround speakers (wireless to main unit but wired to sub amp) make a great difference to the sound. Brilliant three dimensional sound enhances whatever you are watching. Well worth its cost, which in itself was quite reasonable.

Wanted a complete surround sound system and this was the perfect fit for our requirements.

Good purchase and worth for money value. Recommended to our friends and relatives...
