Both 8 bits and 10 bits are defined for the HEIF format. However, this camera uses the 10-bit HEIF format in order to provide higher-quality images. Although the 10-bit HEIF format complies with standards defined by the ISO, it cannot be played back on many smartphones and other devices that support the 8-bit HEIF format. (As of October 26, 2022)
To play back 10-bit HEIF images shot with the camera on a smartphone, try converting them into JPEG or TIFF files on a computer using the separately provided the Imaging Edge Desktop before transferring them to the smartphone.
