What are the file formats compatible with DVgate Plus?

File Formats compatible with DVgate Plus.

DVgate Plus is compatible with the video formats below:
- NTSC (National Television System Committee)
Video format that is used mainly in South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, North America.
- PAL (Phase Alternation by Line)
Video format that is used mainly in the rest of the Asia Pacific regions and Europe.

Video images captured from an external device can be saved in the following file formats.
A. Movie Files (Captured from DV Devices)
- DV CODEC AVI 1.0 (*.avi) : 32/44.1/48kHz, 720x480(NTSC), 720x576(PAL)
- DV CODEC AVI 2.0 (*.avi) : 32/44.1/48kHz, 720x480(NTSC), 720x576(PAL)
- WAVE (Sound Only) (*.wav) : 32/44.1/48kHz

B. Movie Files (Captured from MICROMV Devices)
- MICROMV (*.mmv): Stereo, 720x480(NTSC), 720x576(PAL)

C. Still Files
- JPEG 4:3 (*.jpg): 640x480(NTSC), 768x576(PAL)
- JPEG 16:9 (*.jpg): 853x480(NTSC), 1024x576(PAL)
- JPEG for movie (*.jpg): 720x480(NTSC), 720x576(PAL)
- Bitmap 4:3 (*.bmp): 640x480(NTSC), 768x576(PAL)
- Bitmap 16:9 (*.bmp): 853x480(NTSC), 1024x576(PAL)
- Bitmap for Movies (*.bmp): 720x480(NTSC), 720x576(PAL)

The following are the file formats that can be read in the Output Mode:
A. Movie Files
Note: DVgate Plus can import files output from the following programs only:
DVgate Plus, DVgate and Adobe Premiere with VAIO Edit Components.
Sony cannot guarantee correct operation with other file types, or files output from other 3rd party programs.

- DV CODEC AVI 1.0 (*.avi): 16bit 32/44.1/48kHz, 720x480(NTSC), 720x576 (PAL)
- DV CODEC AVI 2.0 (*.avi): 16bit 32/44.1/48kHz, 720x480(NTSC), 720x576 (PAL)
- MPEG1 (*.mpg): Layer II16 bit 44.1 kHz Stereo, 352x240(NTSC), 352x288(PAL)
- MICROMV (*.mmv): Layer II 16 bit 48 kHz Stereo, 720x480(NTSC), 720x576
- MPEG2 (*.mpg): Layer II 16 bit 48 kHz Stereo, 720x480(NTSC), 720x576

B. Still Files
- JPEG for movie (*.jpg): Size: Selectable(NTSC & PAL)
- Bitmap (*.bmp): Size: Selectable(NTSC & PAL)

Video captured in the Output Mode can be saved in the following file formats.

- Click to DVD Project Files (*.ctd)
(Used to capture DVgate Plus clips as DVD chapters)
