How to connect through remote desktop in Windows Vista?

In Windows Vista, the connection has no corresponding remote desktop via internet.

•In Windows Vista Home Basic and Windows Vista Home Premium，it only provides a guest function to connect to the remote desktop. Because it doesn’t have a Host function, you cannot log on from the exterior to operate Windows Vista Home Basic and Windows Vista Home Premium.
•Multi-users cannot operate their PC which is set as the host machine at the same time.

When you connect to the remote desktop, you need to set host machine and client machine.

■ Set-up the host machine except Windows Vista Home Basic and Windows Vista Home Premium.
■ Set-up the client machine.

■Set-up the host machine except Windows Vista Home Basic and Windows Vista Home Premium.
The accounts used in the remote connection need a password.
If you don’t set password, the information You cannot log on because of the limit of accounts will be displayed.

If you want to connect to the remote desktop, you need to set the host machine to enable the remote desktop and permit remote connected accounts to log on ahead.
 
●Set it to enable to connect through remote desktop.

1.Click Start, right click Computer, and then click Properties.

2.Click Remote settings.
3.After displaying the User Account Control message, click the Continue button.

4.If the User Account Control message does not appear, please operate in the following steps.
5.Uncheck the Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop (less secure) item，or  Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication(more secure) ，and then click OK button.

In the above pictures, if you select the Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication item, the users who are Network level will be permitted to connect to his own computer.
Windows Vista allows connections from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication.

●Allow to log on to the remote desktop to connect accounts.
 
1.Click the Start button, right click Computer, and click Properties.
2.Click Remote settings.
3.After appearing the User Account Control message, click  the Continue button.

4.If the User Account Control message dose not appears, please operate in the following steps.
5.Click Select Users in Remote Desktop.
6.Click the Add button in the window of Remote Desktop Users.
7.Click Object Types.
8.Uncheck the searched Object Types，and then click the OK button.
*Furthermore, you don’t need other set-ups if you use the situation of User.
9.Click location, and appoint the host machine computer name.
10.Please input the searched name in Enter the object names to select.
E.g.The example for connecting to the user’s computer name of VAIO is AAA.
Input VAIO, click Confirm your name, and display AAA\VAIO.
11.Click Check Names, display an arbitrary name，click the OK button.
12.In the user list of Remote Desktop User, confirm the displayed name，click the OK button.
13.In the window of System properties, click the OK button.

■The settings of client machine

1.Click the Start button, click All Programs, and then click Remote Desktop Connection in the context menu of Accessories.
2.Input the computer name which needs to be connected，click the Continue button.
3.Input user name and password in user name and password, click the OK button.

In the initial set-up, the size and color of the display of remote desktop matches the settings of the remote desktop consumer desktop. Furthermore, you can click Options to set the details.
