What is Remote desktop connection?
Remote desktop connection enables user to operate a Windows XP Professional installed computer on the network from a remote computer.
Since this function allows user to log on to the Windows XP Professional computer through LAN or the Internet and to operate it in the Windows environment, the user can "share the computer" or "operate the computer in another place from the computer at home or in the office".
To use the remote desktop connection, user must first establish some settings on the host computer and the client computer.
As Windows XP Home Edition provides the client function of the remote desktop connection, but not the host function, the user cannot log on to the computer from outside and operate the machine on Windows XP Home Edition.
Windows XP Professional provides both the remote desktop function and the client function. However, only one user can operate at a time.
If the user logs on to a computer through the remote desktop connection, and there is a local user who is currently logged on, the local user is forced to log off from the computer.
