About recording sound through the microphone input

    - After recording sound with the microphone connector, the input level becomes too high.
    - After recording sound with the microphone connector, the sound quality is poor.

Sound can be recorded through the microphone input, but it is not recommended as sound will be recorded monophonically.

Some VAIO computers do not have the line input. For VAIO computers without the line input, it is recommended to use an optional audio capture product supporting QSIO, which allows sound to be recorded in high sound quality.
Note:<./b> To use the line input function of PCG-GRT***, a port replicator is required.

    * When the input level is too high
Check if an audio connection cable without resistor is used.
When an audio connection cable without resistor is used, it may not be able to adjust the input level to an appropriate one sometimes.
In this case, use an audio cable with resistor to find out if the level can be adjusted to a proper one.

When the level cannot be adjusted properly even if the audio cable with resistor is used, please connect an amplifier between the source device and the computer.

    * When sound cannot be recorded in normal sound quality
Check whether a stereo audio connection cable is connected to the monaural microphone connector.
When the microphone connector of the computer is monaural, a monaural audio connection cable should be used.
