When you cannot use a printer via infrared communication.

When you cannot use a printer via infrared communication.

Refer to the procedure below. [Setup procedure]
    1) Infrared connection on PCG-Cxx is based on IrDA1.1. Verify that the printer is compatible with Windows 98 and IrDA1.1. If your printer driver supports Windows 95 only, the printer may not be able to be used as a printer via infrared communication or USB printer for Windows 98. Contact the manufacturer of your printer for further information.
    2) Make sure that the printer port is set correctly. See the instruction manual of your printer for the printer port setting.
As for PCG-Cxx, select "COM4: (Infrared serial (COM) port)" in the Printer Properties dialog box.
    3) Check if the infrared communication is enabled. When a red circle with x is displayed at the IrDA device on the task tray, you cannot use the infrared communication. When you point to the IrDA device on the task tray and click it, the Infrared Monitor window appears. Click the Options tab, and select "Enable infrared communication" check box. Click [OK] to close the Infrared Monitor window. Move your printer closer to the IrDA port, and then select "Enable infrared communication." Make sure that the red circle with x on the IrDA device of the task tray disappears, and the section is blinking in red and green. Now you can start printing.
