Why are the characters that reflected on the screen different from those keyed in from the keyboard?

This symptom is due to the settings of the Character Layout of the keyboard.

To resolve this symptom, follow the steps below to set the Character Layout of the Keyboard to English (British).
1. Click Start-Settings and click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Keyboard and click Language tab.
3. Select the option of English (United States) and click OK.
